Hilton Head Island offers so many opportunities to get out and enjoy our beautiful island. From golf and tennis to biking around our miles of bike trails and our hard packed sand beach. There are many ways to get out on the water too. Kayaking, dolphin cruises, paddle boarding and fishing charters are just a few. Tennis on Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head Island offers world class tennis facilities with over 350 tennis courts including hard, clay and grass playing surfaces. Our facilities attract top professionals and amateurs from around the world making for great instruction programs as well as great opportunities for some good competition. Our mild weather allows players to enjoy the sport year round. Many of our homes and villas offer free on site tennis or you can play at one of the public courts at one of  the parks on the island.

 

  • Shipyard Plantation offers the Van Der Meer Shipyard Racquet Club, additionally many of our villas in Shipyard have free on site tennis including Waterford and Evian.
  • Palmetto Dunes has the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center. Our villas at Turnberry and Inverness offer on site courts.
  • The Forest Beach area offers Van Der Meer Racquet Club and many of our villas offer on site tennis including Forest Beach Villas and Xanadu.
  • Folly Field offers tennis at Hilton Head Beach and Tennis, try one of our villas at Admiral’s Row.
  • Sea Pines has two racquet clubs: Sea Pines Racquet Club near Harbour Town and South Beach Racquet Club at South Beach Marina.

Children's Activities

Hilton Head Island is a perfect family destination with lots of things for families to enjoy together and special activities for children to enjoy on their own. From Memorial Day to Labor Day there are nightly concerts with Gregg Russell at the Oak Tree in Harbor Town and Shannon Tanner at Shelter Cove – featuring Fireworks every Tuesday night during the summer. Shoot a round at one of the miniature golf courses or take a pirate cruise from Shelter Cove or Harbour Town. There are also children’s day camps that offer a unique look at the island’s natural treasures as well as golf and tennis camps.

Hilton Head Island offers lots of ways to get out on the water. From surf casting, lagoon fishing, casting and crabbing to charter fishing we can get  you out on the water. Hilton Head Island also has several public boat ramps where you can put your own boat in or charter a boat for a day trip from one of our marinas.



History on Hilton Head Island

Baynard ruins

 

History comes alive on Hilton Head Island with historical sites and tours. The Coastal Discovery Museum is a wonderful place to explore and features guided tours, local wildlife and special programs. There are many historical sites on the island including Baynard Ruins and the shell rings in Sea Pines Resort and Green Shell Park. Fort Mitchell in Hilton Head Plantation and Zion Chapel of Ease and Cemetery with the Baynard Mausoleum are also interesting spots to visit. Daufuskie Island, the Towns of Bluffton, and Beaufort, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia are all wonderful places for day trips within an hour of the island.
